When arranging and decorating furniture in dining room, you should take note of a few taboos below to have a beautiful and feng-shui-suited dining space.


Keep lamp from shining straight down to dining-table 

Dining-table is a place for all members in a family to gather around in daily meals. This area should be arranged with harmonic light, and it should be bright enough for people to comfortable and happy when sitting at the table. A taboo that according to feng shui that you should note is that you shouldn’t let the light from a lamp go straight down to dining-table or it will affect taste and mood of every member.

Don’t let dining room encroach cooking area

Dining room and cooking area is often placed close together in a room. However, when arranging these two regions, you should divide this area harmoniously and should not take up too much of the kitchen’s area. Otherwise, this is not only inconvenient for cooking and eating but also easy to cause conflict when jet air flows into the room.

Do not put dining room opposite to the door

Dining table is usually placed near a window or in the middle of the dining room. When setting up a position for dining table, you should remember not to put it opposite right to the front door and the back of the room. If you live in a multi-storey building, you should choose to place your dining room at second floor.

Avoid placing open bar in a small dining room

With a small dining room, adding an open bar will add adversely affect aesthetics of the space, affecting the movement and cause inconvenience to people eating. If you want to display kinds of wine, you can use other types of cabinets and wall shelves to display small wine making decorative accents for the room.
